W dniu 13 września 2024 roku na Wydziale Nauk o Zdrowiu Uniwersytetu Medycznego w Lublinie miały miejsce prace badawczo-naukowe dla pracowników Wydziału Nauk o Zdrowiu Uniwersytetu Medycznego w Lublinie oraz wszystkich zainteresowanych badaniami naukowymi i rozwojowymi w obszarze „Oczekiwania i potrzeby osób z niepełnosprawnością intelektualną i rozwojową oraz ich opiekunów wobec personelu pielęgniarskiego” w ramach Visiting Professors in Lublin, III Edycja 2024.

 

W dniu 13 września w Auli Coll. Novum, Al. Racławickie 1 prof. Holly Brown oraz prof. Dianne Cooney-Miner z USA wygłosiły wykłady będące podstawą do dyskusji nt.:

- Holly Brown (St. John Fisher University, USA), Child and adolescent mental health;

- Dianne Cooney-Miner (St. John Fisher University, USA), Early Intervention programs for children with developmental disabilities.

On September 13, 2024, the Faculty of Health Sciences at the Medical University of Lublin hosted a scientific and educational work for the staff of the Faculty of Health Sciences at the Medical University of Lublin and all those interested in scientific and developmental research in the area of “Expectations and needs of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their caregivers towards nursing staff” within the framework of Visiting Professors in Lublin, 3rd Edition 2024.

On September 13 in the Auditorium of Coll. Novum, Al. Raclawickie 1 Prof. Holly Brown and Prof. Dianne Cooney-Miner from the USA gave lectures that formed the basis for discussions on:

- Holly Brown (St. John Fisher University, USA), Child and adolescent mental health;

- Dianne Cooney-Miner (St. John Fisher University, USA), Early Intervention programs for children with developmental disabilities.

The event brought together a large number of guests - representatives of the medical community, as well as retired employees of the Faculty of Health Sciences, doyens of nursing in Poland, representatives of PTP, chief nurses of Lublin hospitals, representatives of authorities and employees of universities from Lublin and all over Poland, students, doctoral students, residents of the city of Lublin.

The event was an opportunity to establish cooperation, learn about innovative solutions, transfer good practices in the area of interdisciplinary care for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD), and initiate scientific research on the expectations and needs of people with disabilities (IDD) and their caregivers towards nursing staff.

The leader of the project and scientific coordinator was Prof. Dr. dr. n. o zdr. i n. med. Beata Dobrowolska, Dean of the Doctoral School of the Medical University of Lublin, Head of the Department of Integrated Nursing Care at the Faculty of Health Sciences of the Medical University of Lublin in cooperation with the City of Lublin, the Supreme Chamber of Nurses and Midwives in Warsaw, the District Chamber of Nurses and Midwives in Lublin and the Golisano Institute of St. John Fisher University in Rochester, USA.

The scientific seminar was held within the framework of the 3rd edition of the Visiting Professors in Lublin program - an initiative of the City of Lublin strengthening the internationalization of academic staff and promoting Lublin as a friendly city for the scientific community.
